Their day is just beginning at this hour with a prayer service.

A North Carolina man was killed in a motorcycle accident yesterday afternoon
in Franklin County.
34-year-old Thomas Hanes, of Greensboro, was riding on route 6-40 near
Callaway when he ran off the road and hit a tree.

Police are looking for suspects in the armed robbery of a southwest Virginia
McDonald's early yesterday morning.
Richlands police Sergeant W-A Puckett says the four employees had locked the
restaurant and begun closing when the two armed men came out of the restroom.
Police say the men made the employees crawl on their hands and knees to the
back of the restaurant, and then took off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Puckett says the men had a handgun and a rifle.
No one was injured.

canteen accounts of 16-hundred inmates.
Officials say the inmates owe more than 100- thousand dollars for unpaid
fines and court costs.
Inmates' money is kept in accounts by the Corrections Department.
Purchases at prison canteens or the inmate's share for medical services are
credited against the accounts.
Any amount above 45 dollars is put into a reserve account, which is tapped
by the court to pay the inmate's fines and court fees.

And every three hours a victim of domestic violence is denied shelter.

Nationally it's called a week without violence.
Yesterday the Y-W-C-A started the week off by honoring the spirit and memory
of those who died as the result of violence.
Members hope educating the public will help erase the stigma connected to
victims of violence.
They also hope people will stop excepting violence as a way life.
