Among the long- awaited recommendations-- construction of a new Cave Spring High School on Merriman Road, and the conversion of the existing high school into a middle school.
After the school board makes its decision, final approval rests in the hands of the county board of supervisors-- and the members are divided.

The gas, which is used in rocket fuel, can be fatal if inhaled.

Holsinger was fired from her job as a waitress at the Witch Duck Inn shortly before the murders last year.

A Harrisonburg doctor charged with plotting to KILL his former boss goes to trial on mail fraud charges next month in Nashville, Tennessee.
Doctor Ray Mettetal's trial on the charge he tried to kill Doctor George Allen is probably two to three months away.
But a federal judge will hear evidence next month... that Mettetal made a FALSE statement to the Postal Service when he allegedly used an ALIAS to rent a post office box.
Mettetal was carrying identification in the name of Steven Maupin when he was arrested near Allen's parking space at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Maupin was the name police say Mettetal used to rent the post office box.

In his sunday speech to the united nations, Yeltsin said he would not allow russian troops to be under american led NATO command. President Clinton said Russia will play a role but the exact roles remain undetermined. CLINTON:WE AGREED IT WAS IMPORTNAT FOR RUSSIA TO PARTICIAPTE IN IMPLEMENTATION OF AGREEMENT.
President Clinton, who has pledged 25,000 american troops to peacekeeping efforts is certain to share these conversations with leaders of Bosnia and Croatia when they meet tommorrow.
Before the statements, the president shared some history of Roosevelt's home.. from the same chairs Roosevelt and Churchill used while making decisions about the war. And they paid tribute to Roosevelt and his wife. But the president leaves the peace and quiet of Hyde Park to deal with other issues. Tommorow he meets with China's president. And while a Sunday U.N. photo appears to indicate a friendly encounter.. relations are strained.. even resulting in the meeting site being changed because of Chinese objections to a human rights exhibit at the original site.
While no specific answers on the Bosnian issues came out of this Clinton-Yeltsin summit.. more issues including nuclear disarmament were addressed.. and it provided the two with another opportunity to talk.. something just a few years ago.. would not have happened. The Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors has some decisions of its own to make.
It's considering two sites for a proposed new airport.
One is between Interstate 81 and I-64 just north of Lexington.
The other is off I-81 at Raphine(Ray-PHEEN).
According to a consulting firm, the airport would cost 20- MILLION dollars.
The Federal Aviation Administration would pay for most of the project.

A Roanoke used car dealer has been indicted on federal charges of accepting food stamps as partial payment for automobiles.
According to the indictment, Joseph Spangler is accused of accepting about three-thousand dollars in food stamps for a Honda and six-thousand dollars in food stamps for a Buick.
The purchases were made by undercover federal agents.
A small amount of cash also was paid for the vehicles.
Spangler says he's unaware of the indictments and did NOT make the sales.

The Red Cross will offer a variety of classes including C-P-R, lifeguarding and disaster control.
