On the national front, President Clinton will have a tough time winning

Statewide, 39-percent of the people in the survey have a favorable opinion

41-percent have an unfavorable opinion, up from 36-percent.
Bob Dole remains the most popular Republican among the announced candidates.

That's more than double the amount of his closest competitor.
Head to head, Dole currently has a 46-to-39-percent lead over the President.
But throw Colin Powell into the mix, and it gets interesting.
One on one, Powell beats Clinton 49-to-32-percent.
But if Powell runs as an independent, Dole wins with 33-percent of the vote.
Clinton gets 26-percent, Powell draws 25-percent, with 16-percent undecided.

Nasdaq gained four points.
