Officials in Israel report that their Prime Minister has been assassinated.
Apparently Prime Minister Rabin was gunned down at the end of a peace rally in Tel Aviv.
Radio reports and police say the shots were fired as Rabin was leaving a pro-government rally.
He was shot three times and was taken to Tel Aviv's Hospital in serious condition.
Witnesses say he was covered in blood.
He was operated on and died an hour after the shooting.
An official says police have arrested the gunman, identified as being affiliated with an Israeli right-wing group.
