Two brothers face murder charges in a shooting last month in Henry County - this morning the two are still at large.
Twenty- five- year old Orbin Smith, Junior was shot to death, following an armed robbery in his home October 22nd.

The Henry County Sheriff's Department is looking for 24- year-old Michael Ward and 18- year- old Harden Ward-- both from Prince George County, Maryland.
In addition to the alleged murder and armed robbery of Smith-- the pair is also suspected in another armed robbery at a Henry County apartment house.
While police believe the Wards are in the D-C Metro area or back home in Maryland-- they're still asking for the public's help finding them.

State police say 33- year- old Laura Glass Barringer apparently braked for the bus's red lights when she veered into the other lane.
Barringer was pronounced dead on arrival at Lynchburg General Hospital.
The 45 students on the bus were NOT injured.

58- year- old Jessie Crawford was driving a pickup truck when it ran off the road and turned over in a ditch.

A man convicted of attempted rape said he FORGOT to come to Danville Circuit Court for his sentencing.
Seventeen years later, Oddie Whitted finally got what was coming to him.
Yesterday, he was sentenced to THREE years in prison for attempted rape, and ONE year for the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Court officials realized Whitted had NOT been sentenced three years ago when he was convicted on drug charges in North Carolina.

Two brothers wanted for murder in Henry County are STILL at large.
Police believe they have left the area, but need the public's help locating them.

The Henry County Sheriff's Department is looking for 24- year-old Michael Ward and 18- year- old Harden Ward.
Both are from Prince George County, Maryland and are suspects in the shooting death of 25- year- old Orbin Smith, Junior.
The two are also wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a Henry County apartment house.
Investigators say the they targeted homes they believed were involved in drug activity, so the robbery might not be reported.
Police hesitate to call a recent rash of murders in the county a crime wave-- saying a similar trend has happened before.

The elderly Martinsville woman who fatally shot an intruder in her home Saturday was apparently beaten before the shooting.
82- year- old Elva Holsclaw died Monday morning.
Now the medical examiner says her death was murder.

Yesterday afternoon, the driver of a minivan lost control of the vehicle on Route 24 and slid into a schoolbus.
State police say 33- year- old Laura Glass Barringer apparently had braked for the bus's red lights when she veered into the other lane.
Barringer was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.
The 45 students on the bus were not injured.

About an hour later, state police were called to the scene of another fatal crash.
This one happened on Leesville Road north of Evington.
58- year- old Jessie Crawford was driving a pickup truck when it ran off the road and turned over in a ditch.
Crawford was from Abingdon.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It took a marathon meeting of Lynchburg City Council, but a proposed 15- million dollar sports complex is closer to reality.

The city's newly- formed Sports Authority wants to build a new minor league baseball stadium and twenty soccer and Little League fields in the Sandusky neighborhood.
Supporters say the project is long overdue.
But Sandusky residents are worried about the traffic, noise and light pollution the complex might create.
Finally, at 1:30 this morning council approved the project by a 5-1 vote.
