Lodge officials say they're prepared to reopen as soon as they get word from
A hunter was apparently mistaken for game by another hunter this afternoon
in Franklin County.
The victim was airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital about an hour ago.
The sheriff says he understands the 42-year old victim is in "pretty bad
Authorities are still trying to reach family members, so they're withholding
the name, for now.
Sheriff Quint Overton says he has heard from the Game Warden only by radio,
so he doesn't have any details of the incident.
A NEWS 7 photographer at the site of the accident reports the victim was

in the Union Hall area involved black-powder muzzle-loaders.
The Husband of a Utah congresswoman has turned himself into authorities.
Joe Waldholtz vanished Saturday amid investigations into his personal
finances and the handling of his wife's campaign funds.

The FBI alleges Joe Waldholtz was involved in a nearly two million dollar
A Roanoke woman who accused two sheriff deputies of sexual assault is
pregnant with twins.
Special prosecutor Bob Bushnell says the babies are due within the month.
Ronlyn Eaton claims the deputies, David Keith Bell and Larry Dean Neighbors,
sexually assaulted her after she asked them for a ride home from a bar.
During a motions hearing this morning Bushnell asked for an April court

The defense was also seeking a motion to have the prosecution disclose
Eaton's sexual history.
The court ruled that only previous rape allegations and whatever sexual
history that appears on police reports was admissible.
The defense will also have access to the victim's prior criminal convictions
and her medical records.
Bell is accused of sodomy and Neighbors is accused of rape and sodomy.
Both worked as guards in the Roanoke City Jail and are on administrative
leave without pay.
The trial date is scheduled for April 23rd.

Police say the teen is charged with aiding and abetting- in the shooting.
It was earlier this week that police say a high school senior walked into
the school and fatally shot a teacher and a student.
Today it was back to school for students at the Lynnville Tennessee high

A federal jury in Lynchburg is deciding the fate of former Amherst mayor
Beidler is standing trial on nine counts of money laundering in connection
with a drug and gambling ring in central Virginia.
Prosecutors say Beidler took more than 100- thousand dollars from ringleader
Wendell Wood, and invested it in a real estate development.
To avoid filing a federal transaction report, Beidler made the deposits in
amounts of less than ten- thousand dollars.
Beidler testified today he never knew the source of Wood's money and only
broke up the deposits to protect Wood's privacy.
The jury began its deliberations about an hour ago.
Wall Street narrowly missed a big milestone today.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average, the stock market's most closely watched

Interneuron Pharmaceuticals will market the drug.
