A Roanoke man is in stable condition tonight after police pulled his body from the trunk of his car.
According to police, Vernon Laughon, was reported missing on Thursday.
The caller's identity is not being released, but police say the caller told them Laughon left in his car with a woman.

This morning police received a tip that Laughon's car was parked on Sixth Street near Highland Avenue and that a body was in the trunk.
When police arrived they found Mitzi Horton in the driver's seat.
Horton told police Laughon allowed her to use his car.
The officers found the trunk key in Horton's pocket and that's when they found Laughon in the trunk.
He told police the last thing he remembered was being choked by Horton and then waking up in the trunk.

Horton was arrested for parole violation.
She is now being charged with abduction.
Investigators say other charges are pending.

An Axton man has been hospitalized in Martinsville after being shot last night.
And the shooter is in the Henry County Jail.
Investigators say 34-year-old Marshall Junior Martin was shot four times during an argument.
He suffers from wounds to his leg, stomach, chest, and head.
35-year-old Timothy Curtis Martin, also of Axton, is charged with malicious wounding and using a firearm in commission of a felony.
Police believe the shooting may be related to the vandalism of cars that occurred earlier in the week.
Timothy Martin is in the Henry County Jail on 75-hundred dollars bond.
Police say the men are distant cousins.

A Lynchburg teenager died after the car she was riding in collided head on with another vehicle.
17-year-old Sara Elizabeth Rieley of Lynchburg, was the passenger killed in the vehicle.
The accident happened around 5:30 last night on route 5-0-1 in Bedford County.
Police say the driver of a pickup truck struck a deer, he lost control of the vehicle, and drove into on coming traffic.
Rieley died a few hours after the accident at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Volunteers and community leaders hope to re-kindle the glow of camp fires of a camp once owned by the YMCA.
For 60 years the Y operated Camp Roanoke, but in 19-85 the last camp fire was put out.

Today the Camp Roanoke Fund Raising Committee launched its campaign called "Rekindle The Glow."
The money raised will go to phase two of the camp renovations.

The camp is available for programs such as company retreats.
And this summer it played host to DARE camp.
Members of the committee hope the camp will benefit the younger residents of the Roanoke Valley most.

Now the committee wants to raise 250-thousand dollars to complete the work.
The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors is challenging citizens to get involved by allocating 50-thousand dollars to the project.
The effort to revitalize the camp started in 19-93.
Ted Susac (sus-ak) and Lynn Ricker helped launch the effort.
Their reward for all their work is this plaque renaming the dining hall.
