Bedford.

State police say 45- year- old Thomas Monroe Douglass was headed west on 460
around 6:15 when he lost control of his car.
The vehicle ran off the right side of the road, struck several bushes and
flipped over.
Douglass was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say it did "not" appear he was wearing a seatbelt.

31- year- old Mitzi Horton was arraigned today in District Court.
She's charged with abducting Vernon (LOFF-in) Laughon by locking him up in
the trunk of his car.

The man was reported missing on Thursday.
Then Saturday, when police found his vehicle, Horton was in the driver's
seat.
She told officials Laughon let her use the car.
Police found the trunk key in Horton's pocket and that's when they
discovered the man locked away.
Laughon told police the last thing he remembered was being choked and then
waking up in the trunk.
Horton's preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 19th.

because of alleged sexual harrassment charges.

injuring another.
