A manhunt is underway in Giles County at this hour as police search for an

They believe the men robbed two convenience stores at gunpoint earlier this
One of the suspects was apprehended walking along Route 460 in Pembroke.
The others were discovered when they pulled their car over on River Road in
the Commissary Hill area of Giles County.
One man surrendered to police.
The other was found hiding in a ditch holding a gun to his head.
Authorities are currently searching Commissary Hill with blood hounds for a
fourth man believed to be armed.
He is said to be dressed in dark pants, a flannel jacket and cowboy boots.
Meanwhile police in Blacksburg are also investigating an apparent abduction
at the Heathwood Express convenience store.
They have not not determined the incidents are related.
Three people were injured tonight when the vehicle they were riding in
flipped over an embankment in Roanoke County.
It happened shortly before seven. Police say this vehicle was heading
northbound on Olsen Road when it came upon a sharp right- hand curve.

Police say two males and a female were taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Their names have not been released.
Authorities believe speed was the major factor in the accident.
No word on whether alcohol was involved.
A Henry County girl is in serious condition after she was struck by a car
while walking to her bus stop.
Authorities say Amanda Wagoner was crossing Route 57, just east of
Martinsville this morning.
The car apparently failed to stop for the bus' flashing lights-- and struck
Charges are pending against the driver.
State police are still investigating.
The Bosnian Peace Mission is moving forward- today getting the go ahead
from NATO- and the blessing of Former President George Bush.

Accused capital killer Paul David Thompson reached a plea bargain on the
criminal charges he faces in WEST Virginia.
He's expected to enter a guilty plea in Fairmont, BEFORE he's tried in
Roanoke for the robbery and murder of Virgie Green.
Thompson's attorneys advised the judge in ROANOKE today they expect Thompson
will be sentenced to "LIFE without mercy" in West Virginia.
That means the 26- year- old killer will have NO chance of parole in that
Prosecutors HERE will ask the jury for a DEATH sentence.
The judge today agreed to bring in one HUNDRED potential jurors for the
lawyers to chose from.
Green's body was found in the trunk of a car behind her home in Old
Southwest last year.
Trial in that case is set to begin Monday.
A former Bath County bank manager faked a bank robbery-
Now shes pleading guilty to embezzling close to thirty-thousand dollars from
Last March, Robin Rickett said a black man dressed in dark clothing robbed
her bank and fled on foot.
But apparently Rickett was a suspect from the beginning.
She was indicted in June by a grand jury on 17 charges, including fraud and

Police say she used names of fictitious customers to make fake loans to
herself at the State Bank of the Alleghanies.
Rickett finally confessed to state police that she took the money.

Both Miller and Warner will keep a close eye on the Republican central

It recognizes national retailers that are trying to END the practice of

New evidence today that Folic Acid could help prevent some birth defects.
The study suggests Folic Acid could help prevent Spina Bifida and some
other birth defects.
Researchers believe a lack of folic acid in the mothers red blood cells
increases the odds she'll have a baby with birth defects.
Folic Acid only does good if taken in the earliest days of pregnancy
before most women even realize they're pregnant.
It can be found in citrus fruits and dark leafy vegetables.
But doctors are pushing the government to require staple foods like
flour be enriched with Folic Acid.
A tomato -- or two -- a day may keep prostate cancer away.
Researchers say they've found that men who eat at least ten servings a
week of tomato-based foods are up to 45 percent less likely to develop prostate
