House Speaker Newt Gingrich predicts without a balanced budget deal the
stock market will crash and interest rates will skyrocket.
Gingrich's stern warning comes as debate resumes on Capitol Hill.
Republicans have started talking with conservaitve Democrats in an effort to
pressure the White House for a deal.
Both sides are calling for a settlement before December 15th, to avoid
another partial government shutdown.
NATO'S foreign and defense ministers are meeting today in Brussels to
discuss the deployment of the 60-thousand member peacekeeping force to Bosnia.
It's the first time the ministers have met jointly since 19-77.
U-S Defense Secretary William Perry and Secretary of State Warren Christopher
are among the officials going over details of the largest operation in NATO's

A former bank manager in Bath County pleaded guilty this morning to
embezzling 30-thousand dollars.
