The three men accused of killing a Virginia Tech student hear the charges
Justice can't come soon enough for the family of a murdered Virginia Tech
Alexander DeFilippis was abducted from a Blacksburg convenience store and
shot four times in the head.

Jean, the suspects face at least 12 felony charges each for their alleged crime
spree through Montgomery and Giles counties.
Today they made their first court appearance to be arraigned on the charges.
The judge appointed lawyers to defend 27 year- old Benjamin Lilly, his 20
year- old brother Mark Lilly, and a friend of the brothers, 19 year- old Gary

that left eight people dead.

The gunmen was one of the eight killed. Police say it doesn't appear
robbery was the motive.
Two Fort Bragg Soldiers are charged for allegedly murdering a black
Private James Burmeister and Private Malcolm Wright are members of the
Investigators say the soldiers were out hunting blacks to harrass them when
they came upon Michael James and Jackie Burden.
The victims were shot in the head at close range.

A third suspect is also being questioned- he too is in the military.
Danville's new curfew is now being hailed by one city leader.
Police Chief Neal Morris calls it one of the best decisions the city's ever
City council approved the curfew- It went into affect November first.
Since then, Morris says 30- citations have been issued.
The curfew requires young people under age 18 to be in after 11 on week
nights and midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Morris says his officers noticed a d improvement right away and hopes city
council will keep the measure in place.

A Virginia A-C-L-U spokesman says the curfew imposes on a child's freedom as

A new study indicates the elderly and uninsured are taking the hit for
prescription drug discounts given to people in H-M-0's.
The report is for the National Association of Chain Drug Stores.
It says companies deeply discount drugs to managed health care plans and
make up for it by charging others more.

believed that people who self-injure have problems with controlling

Experts say that self-mutilators are able to stand the repeated
infliction pain by entering into what is called a dissociated state--a
feeling of being almost out of body where sights, sounds and the ability to
feel pain dims.

Doctors know that one-third of women who have eating disorders also
self-injure and many experts are applauding Princess Diana's candid admission
she suffered from both.
They hope her celebrity will encourage others to step forward and seek

Eight countries plan to release postage stamps today to honor John Lennon on
the 15th anniversary of his death.
The stamps come from such exotic countries as Ghana, Mali and the Maldives.
This is not the first time Lennon has been on a stamp.
Australia, Britain and the former West Germany all have issued Lennon
John Lennon was shot and killed by Mark David Chapman on this day in 1980.
A wayward manatee that has won the hearts of many has a new home and a new
"Hugh" Manatee arrived at Sea World of San Antonio last night.
The animal was caught in a Houston bayou where it had strayed from the Gulf
Animal experts are scheduled to do tests on the manatee to find out if it
is from Florida or Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.
They hope to return it to its natural habitat.
By the way, since it was captured it was learned that "Hugh" is not a
boy--but a girl.
Now the animal has been renamed "Selena" in honor of the Tejano singer who
died earlier this year.
