Democrats picked their floor leader last week.
But they're calling Springfield Senator Dick Saslaw the "majority leader."
That's the guy who runs the show and appoints the committees.
Republican Benedetti is demanding equal representation, as well as a few chairmanships.
Saslaw's said no.
He's laying claim to the majority because of Lieutenant Governor Don Beyer -- the tie breaker.
It's all a moot point if the man who says he'll stay a Democrat doesn't vote that way on day one of the session.

Judge John Quigley set bail at 25 thousand dollars.
Schwab says no one thought Lilly, who was indigent enough to qualify for a court- appointed lawyer would be able to raise the required 10 percent.
But his mother did, and Lilly walked.
The next month police picked him up on traffic violations, nothing too serious, so a magistrate released him on personal recognizance.
In hindsight it may have led to tragedy. But Schwab reminds us the laws are there to protect all our rights, the innocent as well as the guilty. Tracy Altizer, News 7.

The Virginia tailback has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference player of the year. Barber was selected by vote of the ECAC's Division 1-A football coaches and sports information directors.
Tiki beat out players from 12 schools. Included in that bunch are Penn State, Boston College, Syracuse, Maryland and West Virginia.
The junior carried the ball 265 times for 1 thousand 397 yards and 14 touchdowns. Barber led the ACC in rushing and was one of 8 finalists for the Doak Walker award given annually to the best running back in the country.
