Police say when the callers returned to the bridge the man was gone.
Authorities were searching for a black male wearing a blue jacket.

Two divers also searched the water.
Police are uncertain whether they'll resume their search this morning.

72 year old Clark Aubrey Adkins was reported missing December 13th.
Police found Adkins' body lying near his abandoned car in the (CAL-inds) Callands area of the county Sunday night.
Murder warrants have been sworn out for 19 year old Paul Dalton in connection with Adkins' death.
Authorities will not say why they suspect Dalton, except that they believe the two men knew each other.
Anyone with information should contact the Pittsylvania County sheriff's department.

That's the price tag consultants put on the project yesterday, as they laid out several options to council members.
One alternative would remove the stands on the east side of the stadium to allow expansion of the track and field.
A second proposal raises the playing field out of the flood plain, and removes a front section of seats on both sides.
