The Y-W-C-A will be starting the New Year by consolidating its services.
The Salem Center closed today.
Y-W-C-A Board of Directors voted unanimously to close the center.
The board rents this building from Roanoke College.

for the consolidation.
The Central Center located in downtown Roanoke has been renovated to meet
the needs of Salem clients.
The improvements include better accessibility to the pool and the locker
rooms for the disabled.
Y-W-C-A officials also say the board is considering other sites in Salem as
potential satellite locations for after-school programs, youth summer and
