Two people were injured this morning outside a Danville convenience store when a fight escalated into gunshots.

Police say the suspect fired a semi- automatic weapon several times. Bullets struck two people.
Michael Tyron Fitzgerald was shot in the foot.
A second victim-- Tammy Marie Fuller was shot in the arm-- the bullet lodged in her stomach.
Police say they have suspects, but have not made an arrest.

This is the second shooting outside the Goodyear Boulevard Express Mart.
In August, 33- year old Clifford Ray Perkins was shot to death in his car, which crashed into a neighboring house.
Police are still searching for the suspect in that case.
He's been identified as 23- year- old Lawrence Kent Hamlett, Junior.

Both the House and Senate have passed an emergency stop- gap- spending measure-- allowing benefit checks to be sent.

Morris Stephenson is leaving the New River Valley speedway. He's resigned his post to become promoter and general manager of Lonesome Pine international raceway.
