falsifying a log book, but this afternoon a judge dismissed the felony drug
charge Wheeler was facing.

sheriff's office, not knowing whether they'd have jobs under incoming sheriff
Doug Marrs.

Marrs has filled those positions with Christiansburg police sergeant Michael
Cox, who will be chief deputy, and a former deputy, Neal Turner, as
administrative lieutenant.
With his staff now in place, Marrs says he's eager to start his new job, and

Point North Carolina.

The Green Bay Packers' Brett Favre was named the league's offensive player
of the year.
Favre, who edged out Emmitt Smith in the balloting, threw for 38 TD's this
season, the most ever in the NFC. He racked up 4,413 yards through the air and
completed 63 percent of his pass attempts.
