Police in Roanoke say a woman was found dead in the back seat of her car
A friend reported 34-year-old Vickie Ross missing last night.
Ross' vehicle was found on Peach Tree Drive in Roanoke.
Someone noticed her body in the back seat and called police.
The resident says the woman's clothes were in disarray and she appeared to
have suffered a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
Police had been looking for Ross after a friend told them she saw Ross'
estranged husband drive away from Vickie's home at a high rate of speed.
When police arrived at Ross' home they found blood in two of the rooms.
Police are still looking for her estranged husband, Bryant Ross.
Anyone with information should contact the Roanoke Police.
A Narrows man is dead following a single car accident in Giles County this
34- year- old Michael Keith Riley was killed around 1-30.
He was driving on route 7-49 when he lost control and struck a tree.

Police in New Orleans have arrested a 15-year-old suspect in the shooting
death of a Southwest Virginia teacher.
33- year- old Connie Reasor (RAY-zohr) was visiting the city with her

when she was robbed and murdered at a cemetery on Christmas Eve.
A television station reported that the teenager said the real gunman was a
28-year-old man who turned himself in on another charge.
Reasor (Ray-zor) was an elementary teacher near her home in Dryden.

A former Ferrum College basketball player is in jail tonight-- accused of
being involved in a drive-by shooting that resulted in murder.
Twenty-two-year-old QUINCY Quick is also charged with conspiracy to
commit robbery and attempted robbery in the October 5th shooting.
Police say they believe someone else was the triggerman, but say Quick was
involved in the crime.
Since his arrest last Thursday-- Quick has been in the Petersburg Jail.
While at Ferrum he was a starting point guard and graduated in 19-94.
Budget negotiations at the White House have ended-- but no compromise in
President Clinton met with House Speaker Newt Gingrich-- Senate Majority
Leader Bob Dole-- and other key players in the Cabinet Room.

Military personnel say it's difficult to find the mines because Bosnians
planted them randomly.

The Army Corps of Engineers says-- NO to the Westvaco Corporation.
The paper giant requested that the Corp (CORE) declare a two mile stretch of
the Jackson River off limits to the public.
Westvaco filed the request two years ago.
The company said the chemical tanks, high-pressure steam and chemical pipes
on the river is dangerous to public boating.
However, the Corps (CORE) of Engineers sided with residents who argued
against the closing in a March 19-94 public hearing.
The river will remain open for recreational use.
A new local computer consulting firm has begun providing access to the
internet in the Roanoke Valley.
Officials at Rev-Net, or Roanoke Electronic Village, say they have the only
on-line service that provides a direct connection to the internet for Roanoke

several years before doctors at Johns Hopkins diagnosed her.
Parkinson's Disease affects one million people in the United States, more
than multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy combined.
It's a progressive disorder of the nervous system.
Patients lose nerve cells in the brain and the chemical dopamine which
carries messages from one nerve cell to another.
Parkinson's disease causes stiffness of the arms, legs and sometimes the
Tremors of the arms and legs and slowness of movement are also symptoms.
Patients often lose their balance.
