The world's clock is once again in synch with the earth's rotation.
At seven tonight, one second was added to the atomic clock at the
National Institute for Standards and Technology in Boulder, Colorado.
The second was added to correspond with the time in England where it is
midnight on the last day of the year.
The earth's rotation slows down ever so slightly each year so the extra
"leap second" is added every year or year-and-a-half to keep the world's most
accurate clocks... accurate.
