That testimony came from the preliminary hearing. There were no cameras allowed in the courtroom this time for the trial. Madonna was the first witness. Scientists say a new discovery may help in the fight against obesity.
They've discovered a powerful appetite suppressor in the brains of rats.
Glucagon (GLOO'-kuh-gon) -like peptide one is present in the brains of all mammals.
Doctors say the suppressant curtails the appetites in rats by making them feel full.
In one experiment, test rats given the substance reduced their food intake by 95 percent.
It is believed the G-L-P ONE would mostly likely do the same for humans.
However it could be as long as two years before human tests of the substance can be done.
