A Portland man faces assault and attempted murder charges this morning
after shooting two people and taking several hostages at his former place of
employment.

Police say the gunman, 24- year old James Rincker, had been fired from his
job as a deliveryman after having problems with female employees at a company
located in the 30-story building where the standoff erupted.
He allegedly went to the building to shoot the women.
Police say Rincker shot and wounded two men in a parking garage, and then
held hostages for four hours before surrendering.
The two men who were shot are hospitilized in fair condition.

Barr Laboratories of New York will invest 14-million-dollars to build a
manufacturing site in Forest.
The move will create 125 new, high paying jobs.
