Wind on Monday slowed V-DOT's road-clearing in the New River Valley.
But, crews tried to make up for it today.
By late afternoon, 90 percent of the secondary roads in Giles County and 75
percent in Pulaski County were passable.
Drifting does remain a problem in many areas.
In Montgomery County, forty percent of the secondaries were still CLOSED as
of late this afternoon.

A Roanoke man is behind bars, accused of killing an auto mechanic.
It was January second

that 26- year- old Christopher Lee Wilson was found at the General Import

An autopsy revealed he died from a blow to the head with a blunt object.

get to their life-saving treatments.

Norfolk Southern says damage from a train derailment in Montgomery County
Sunday will amount to two and a half million dollars.
And that does NOT include cleanup costs.
The Eastbound train was loaded with grain.
All of the 81 cars that jumped the tracks near Lusters Gate will have to be

company's biggest derailment in more than a decade.

County jumping for joy.
The weekend storm kept more than a thousand guests on the mountain an extra
day, but for skiers, there are worse things than being trapped at a ski resort

A Danville neighborhood has created a work of art that hinges on the next

complete with an air vent.
