Ground and air transportation bringing the mail to Roanoke has been delayed as much as 10 hours due to the heavy snow in surrounding states as well as in Virginia.

Saturday, they charged 19- year- old Christopher James Saul with murder.

His body was discovered at General Import Services on Brambleton Avenue.
Wilson died after suffering a blow to the head with a blunt object.
Captain Ray Lavinder says he doesn't know if Saul and Wilson knew each other.
But he believes robbery was the motive.

Some of the nation's busiest airports are preparing to open today, but it may take several days to restore normal service.
At Washington's Dulles and National airports alone, 250 people have been working to clear runways of a half-million tons of snow.
The East Coast blizzard is turning out to be a real killer.
The storm is now blamed for at least 65 deaths.

In New York City, carbon monoxide poisoning put some people in the hospital.
They were overcome by fumes from car engines left running in the snow.

A school bus driver is dead and a number of kids are seriously hurt in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

An American balloonist is hoping to float his way into the record books for the second time.

Steve Fossett took off from South Dakota yesterday for a trip around the world.
His crew is the first of three international teams who plan to make the trip non- stop.
Last year the 51-year-old millionaire adventurer from Chicago, set a long distance record when he ballooned across the Pacific Ocean.
He is competing with English and Dutch balloon teams.
The trip is expected to take 21 days.
Neither of the other two teams has taken off yet.
