Severe weather is ripping through the state causing flooding, mudslides and
power outages from the Alleghany Highlands to the New River Valley.
Bath County is one of the hardest hit regions.
Officals there are operating under a state of emergency after nearly 4
inches of rain fell overnight.
At least a dozen people have been evacuated in Hot Springs.
There have also been some evacuations in Pulaski County.

region are now trying to keep their head above water.

The town of Hot Springs is under water forcing a number of evecuations.

After the snow the ground was so saturated today's rainfall just had no

debris blocking the intakes of the county and water supplies.

Two shootings in Campbell County last night have left one teenager dead,
another in serious condition.

Rescue crews were called to a home on Route 6-52 in the Gladys area of the
county at about 8-30.
That's where they found 19- year- old Roger Vassar with a gunshot wound to
the chest.
He died shortly after rescue crews arrived.
Minutes later, crews were called to another shooting just a few houses away.
A young boy had been shot in the neck.
He is hospitalized this morning in serious condition.
There is no word yet on suspects or whether the shootings are related.
