southeast Roanoke home this weekend.
Police are still investigating who set fire to a four- and- a- half foot
cross at 12-22 Tompkins Avenue.
The woman who lives there with her children believes the incident may have
been motivated by her interracial relationship with a boyfriend.
One neighbor says the incident came as a surprise to him.

Authorities say 19 year old Jason Dennis Hibbs and 17 year old Ricky Lee

A Henry county animal control officer is back on the job-- after he was

Gerald Wheeler had also faced a felony drug charge.
Wheeler was accused of providing his son with Pento-barbital (Pen- toe-
bar- bi- tall) to euthanize two dogs in Patrick county.
The drug charge was dismissed last month, when a judge ruled Wheeler lacked

Resources as of July First.
Tech President Paul Torgersen says the move will better position the

A Norfolk Southern spokesman says the company has NOT decided whether the

The 1218 was one of the engines that helped power Norfolk Southern's popular
steam excursions, until the railroad killed the program in 1994.
