29- year old Danny R. Jones turned himself over to police after learning he

Police say eyewitnesses led them to Jones as the prime suspect in Allen's
An autopsy shows a Wythe County teen died from exposure to the cold.
Deputies recovered 17 year- old Ricky Lee Coleman's body from along a creek
bank off route 618 early Sunday morning.
That's three days after he'd been in a fight with 19 year old Jason Hibbs.
Authorities say afterwards, Hibbs, 20 year- old Eric Ball, and a 17 year-
old stuffed Coleman into the trunk of a car, then dumped him over the bank.
All three face charges of abduction and murder.
The Alleghany county board of supervisors wants to put a lid on odor and
pollution coming from the Kim- Stan Landfill.
Although the landfill closed years ago-- lecheate continues to flow into
the Jackson River.
Tonight, the board voted to apply for an (Ice Tea) I-S-T-E-A grant.
The federal money would help pay for construction of controlled wetlands--
which would absorb the harmful contaminants before they flow into the river.

Roanoke building officials condemned the home on Stewart Avenue where fire
killed five people Saturday night.
But they do NOT plan to take action against the property owner for failing
to install smoke detectors.
The city requires smoke detectors in rental properties, and investigators
found the home was not equipped with any.
Building officials have sent a notice ordering the owners to board up and
clean up the property, but Building Commissioner Ron Miller says any other
action is unlikely.

According to a news release, Larry Stovall (STO-VALL) is no longer employed
as an undercover investigator.

Governor George Allen requested the change in a letter.
Realtors opposed the change, saying the state should encourage home

But today it moved a step closer to resembling what it looked like during

The city's Redevelopment and Housing Authority and the Henry Street Revival
Committee presented a plan to renovate the area.
Former Roanoke Mayor Noel Taylor says the project won't take away from the
city's other big attractions.
