A federal grand jury has indicted a former vice president of the National Bank of Blacksburg on three counts of fraud.

Two checks totalling more than 60 thousand dollars went to Thomas L. Brotherton, a man Chafin owed money.
Chafin also allegedly issued a 15- thousand dollar cashiers check to the First Community Bank account of Ramey Motors, to pay a debt for Dan's Autoville, owned by the late Dan Ratcliff.
Chafin is chairman of the Giles County Industrial Development Authority.
Last summer News-7 reported Chafin was under investigation for possibly misappropriating I-D-A funds.
