County store owner who had apparently been shot just minutes after opening for
business.

A Bedford County man is standing trial for the murder of his girlfriend.
Forty-nine-year old Joe Gardner Bolling pleaded not guilty to the charges
this morning in Bedford County Circuit Court.

Bolling is accused of fatally shooting 27-year-old Torena Lynn Wright
outside their Timber Ridge home June 18th.
Bolling told police the shooting was an accident.
A rescue squad worker is expected to testify that Wright told her the same

Jury selection took most of the morning, and Bolling's trial is expected to
last at least two days.

Little Cindy Garcia is being held here at the harris county juvenile detention
center. Her picture was all over the papers on tv here in town,helped police
find her late last night.
It was at this apartment complex in north houston that police found the 10
year old pregnant runaway she was with her 22 year old boyfriend.
An annonymous caller led officers to apartment 13.

authorities have been frantically looking for her because they feared she
might have trouble with the birht that could come at anytime.

IMMEDIATELY RECOGNIZED THE GIRL FROM THE TLEVISION AND TOLD THEM SHE DIDN'T
HAVE A LOT OF MOENY BUT THAT SHE WOULD BE GLAD TO TAKE THEM TO HER APARTMENT.
And when the arrived there, in the back bedroom, the woman called police.

ALL BUT SHE LOOKED LIKE SHE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE.
Miss garcia, who autorities say looks 13 or 14, ran away from a shelter when
she learned her boyfriend woud probably be arrested and two days after the
couple disappeared police indeed charged pedro sotelo with aggravated sexual
assault. he is now behind bars.
GUILLEN: HE IS DENYING THAT HE'S IN TROUBLE. HE SAYS HE'S JUST IN LOVE
WITH THE GIRL.
Cindy garcia continues to claim she is 14 years old. her mother who lives
here in Houston says she has the child's birth cirtificate and is indeed 10.
Whatever the case, she'll stay here overnight and will then be in the

another house is ravaged by flames.

At around ten- forty, fire shot out of this house on Marshall Avenue.
This time human lives were spared... but a number of pets were killed.
Fire officials say at least four dogs and a cat died from either burns or
smoke inhalation.
But emergency crews were able to save one canine life.
A preliminary investigation shows the fire may have started on an upstairs
mattress-- either from a smoldering cigarette or from a nearby heater.
But fire crews are not ruling out arson at this time.
