A three-and-half hour stand-off continues in Giles County as police are hoping a barricaded man with a high-powered rifle gives up.
Police are reporting Marvin Don Kirk is holding them at bay at 1-11 Woodrum Avenue in Pearisburg.
A News-7 crew on the scene says Kirk has continued to fire shots throughout the evening.
Police say he is in the house alone.
It all started early this evening around 7:40 when officers went to serve Kirk with misdemeanor warrants.
So far no one has been hurt.

In Augusta County a Craigsville man is dead after crashing into a tree.
50-year-old Millard Allen Puckett was driving on a fire trail two miles north of Route 6-87 when his pick-up truck loss control on some ice.
The truck went off an embankment and struck a tree.
He was taken to Augusta Medical Center where he later died.

However, one of the twins has died.

Children's Hospital in San Diego reports that one of the twins Sarah Morales is recuperating but her sister Sarahi (sah-rah-HEE') has died.
Before the operation doctors said that Sarahi had a defective heart.
Two hours into the operation, doctors also discovered the twins' livers were connected adding more difficulty to the operation.
Doctors say that Sarah won't really be out of the woods until she's off a ventilator-- feeding, and ready to go home.

No jobs will be lost because of the closing.
Employees of the downtown store are either being transferred or will retire.
Heironimus leased this building and now that Deidre Day has tallied the last receipt, auctioneers will take the keys.
The building goes on the block Wednesday.

A large Roanoke City water pipe is gushing water and may continue for a while.
A construction company putting in new guardrails ruptured a 36 inch water pipe.

This all took place on Thursday.
Construction workers struck it when they were putting in the guardrails near the intersection of Florist and Williamson Road.
Roanoke City Water officials say the pipe has been sealed on both sides.
Now they need to wait for it to drain before the repairs can be made.
The pipe is in Roanoke County but actually belongs to Roanoke City.
Officials say the construction company will pay for the repairs and lost water.
Service to residents has not been interrupted.

A News-7 crew on the scene says Kirk has continued to fire shots throughout the evening.
Police say he is in the house alone.
It all started early this evening around 7:40 when officers went to serve Kirk with misdemeanor warrants.
So far no one has been hurt.
