Authorities are charging his girlfriend, Mary Mitchell with the murder.
The incident happened around 4- 30 this afternoon at the Patrick Henry
Apartments on Booker Road.
Police say Mitchell admitted to stabbing Lee in the chest-- but she said it
was an act of self- defense.

A Bedford County man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the
shooting death of his girlfriend last spring.

It took a jury just over four hours tonight to find 48 year old Joe Gardner
Bolling guilty of second degree murder.
Bolling shot and killed 27 year old Torina Wright during an argument in their
home last June.
The jury apparently did not believe that his gun fired accidentally.
After arriving at a verdict around 9:15 tonight, the panel spent another 45
minutes sentencing Bolling to 27 years in prison for the murder and three years
on the firearms charge.

16- year old Tony Spraggins was killed yesterday afternoon on Winslow
Street.
He was a sophomore at George Washington High School.

Police aren't releasing his name because he's underage.

elderly couple and another person at a house hit directly by the jet are
among the confirmed dead.

In one other NBA note, Philadelphia 76ers guard Vernon Maxwell has been
sentenced to 90 days in jail in a Houston drug case.
Last October, Maxwell pleaded no-contest to misdemeanor
marijuana possession.
He was ordered into a drug rehab program and to submit to regular drug
testing, but he didn't follow those
orders. So today, he was sentenced to jailtime.
Maxwell's lawyers plan to appeal. They must do so within 30 days.

Red wolves were the first endangered animals to arrive, and organizers had
