A charter bus carrying about fifty students from the University of Florida, skidded on an icy road and rolled down a fifty- foot embankment.

Public works officials in Lynchburg say they actually got a break when it began to sleet AFTER six inches of snow had already fallen.
Plows were able to keep the primary roads and most of the secondary roads open during the day.
A break in the storm around mid- day also allowed them to administer a layer of salt to many of the roads.. a move that should pay off later tonight.
