In Idaho, some houses are under three or four feet of water.
Authorities say about 200 people living in north-central Idaho have been forced to leave because of rising streams.

A Coast Guard cutter spent the night searching for any sign of life following a jetliner crash off the Dominican Republic.
A search by air resumed this morning.
Authorities so far have retrieved 105 bodies.
The Boeing 7-57 was carrying 189.
Most of the passengers were German tourists heading home from the Dominican Republic.

A letter to Brzonkala's attorney last month notes that Brzonkala chose NOT to seek police involvement.
"I hope she will reconsider," says Deputy A-G Gary Aronhalt.
"If Ms Brzonkala requests it," he wrote, "the Attorney General is prepared to ask the State police to conduct an immediate and thorough criminal investigation...."

Henry County authorities are investigating what's called a "pigeon drop" scam.
They say in late January, a 57 year- old woman was approached inside a K-Mart store in Henry County.
A man and woman reportedly told her they'd found a large sum of money.
They then promised her a share if she would put up 300 dollars in "good faith money".
And once she did-- they disappeared.

A former government research chemist accused of concocting enough chemicals to make 40 million doses of P-C-P will be tried in federal court this month.
Reginald Booker and two other men are charged with conspiracy to manufacture and distribute P-C-P.
The investigation began in May when motorists reported seeing three men in a U-Haul heaving trash bags from the side of a bridge in Charlotte County.
Environmental Quality workers retrieved the chemicals from the banks of Ward's Creek.
Tests showed the sludge was the byproduct of P-C-P.

Authorities say the girl and her family were poisoned after eating ``death cap'' mushrooms.

Congress approved the landmark telecommunications bill last week.

Meantime, Craig County's school superintendent is being asked to resign.
This week, school board members voted three to two to oust Dallas (Helms) Helems.
The decision comes on the heels of a recent fuel leak at Craig County High School.
(Helms) Helems says he was disappointed with the board's decision, and that he had no idea this decision was coming.
Helems still has about a year and a half left on his contract and says he wants to honor it.

State police will investigate Christy Brzonkala's (Bron-kala's) rape charges.
She's the former Virginia Tech student who says TWO Tech football players RAPED her and THEN, got preferential treatment.

The state police investigation was actually the State Attorney General's idea.
A letter to Brzonkala's attorney last month notes that Brzonkala chose NOT to seek police involvement.
"I hope she will reconsider," says Deputy A-G Gary Aronhalt.
"If Ms Brzonkala requests it," he wrote, "the Attorney General is prepared to ask the State police to conduct an immediate and thorough criminal investigation...."

Scam artists are hitting Henry County.
This time, the scam is called a "pigeon drop".
In late January, a 57 year- old woman was approached inside a K-Mart store in Henry County.
A man and woman reportedly told her they'd found a large sum of money.
They, then promised her a share if she would put up 300 dollars in "good faith money".
And once she did-- the couple disappeared.

Henry county authorities say since scam artists are usually transient--they could be anywhere in the region.
They are warning people to be on alert if they are approached.
These people should be considered dangerous.
