Firefighters were called to this house on Arrowhead Lane just after four.
They say a kerosene heater apparently malfunctioned.
The two residents were able to escape the blaze by jumping out a bedroom window.
One man reportedly suffered first and second degree burns...his wife, smoke inhalation.
They were transported to Lynchburg General Hospital.

32- year- old John David Ford yesterday entered an (Alferd) Alford plea to carjacking, abduction and firearms charges.
Ford admitted the Commonwealth had enough evidence to convict him, and did not want to take his chances with a jury which could have given him two life terms in prison.

The victim.. who only wanted to be identified by her last name, Mrs. McDonald, was reportedly satisfied with the terms of the agreement.

Yesterday John David Ford entered an (Alferd) Alford plea to carjacking, abduction and firearms charges.
Ford admitted the Commonwealth had enough evidence to convict him, and did not want to take his chances with a jury which could have given him two life terms in prison.
Instead he'll serve twenty years- an outcome prosecutor Ed Meeks says should satisfy everyone.

Tuesday, members narrowly passed a motion asking Dallas Helems (HELL-ums) to resign.
But it does NOT look like Helems will go along with the board's wishes.
The superintendent would not comment on camera, but said he plans to fulfil his contract... which has eighteen months left.
School board members could vote to terminate his duties during their March meeting... but some are hopeful it will Not come to that.
