Washington and Lee came into tonight's game against ODAC leader, Roanoke
College trying to keep their tournament hopes alive.
The Generals were fighting for the final spot in the conference tournament.

11-th ranked Virginia Tech beat Xavier 78 to 73.

And it looked good early. Damon Watlington pulls up and nails the three the
Hokies led by three.
Then forward Shawn Smith goes to Ace Custis who scores to give the Hokies
a 23 to 18 lead.
The Musketeers were still in the game and when T. J. Johnson scored inside
Tech led 26 to 24 at the half.
Tech padded its lead early in the second half Travis Jackson hits the jump
hook to make it 39 to 32.
Xavier got as close as three points late in the game Lenny Brown hitting
the three pointer.
But the Hokies turned maintained SUPER=33-Virginia
Tech/=78/Xavier/=73;their poise at the free throw line and Tech gets the 78 to
73 win.

Harold Deane scored 20 points as the Virginia Cavaliers added to their
current winning streak with a 62 to 51 win over Clemson.

Jeff Jones and his Cavs came up on the short end at Clemson.
But Harold Deane came out hit he hits this three pointer as the Cavaliers
took a 5 to nothing Lead.
Clemson came right back. Terrell Mcintyre answers with this trey to make
the score 5 to 3 Cavaliers.
Virginia then went on a run. Deane goes to the behind the back pass to
Courtney Alexander and the Cavaliers led 28 to 14 at the half.
But the Tigers put together a 14 to 5 run Tony Christie drives to the hoop
for the score and Clemson cut it to 6.
The Cavaliers remained in the game SUPER=33-Virginia/=62/Clemson/=51;and
they hold off Clemson this afternoon by the score of 62 to 51.

Over at William Byrd this afternoon 8 teams competed in the Big Orange
Wrestling tournament.
The Terriers won the event with 227 points and Northside came in second
with 159.
Cave Spring was third, Staunton River Fourth and William Fleming fifth.

The folks at an Illinois radio station found out how far people would
actually go to get their hands on Ozzy Osbourne tickets.
They were willing to eat goldfish, run across the street with a bathing suit
with a toilet seat strapped on.
One person ate dog food to show what a big Osbourne fan he was, but the
winner was a man who shaved the hair off his entire body.
