The driver 25-year-old William Hyden says the police pulled him over for a
broken taillight and asked him if he'd been drinking.
He says during the stop police pulled Leftwich out of the passenger seat and
questioned him.
He says that's when the beating began.

The Mayor is now asking for an internal investigation and a state
investigation.
Meanwhile Leftwich's trial on assault and resisting arrest charges is set
