college student in Southwest Virginia.
Authorities are still awaiting blood test results to determine what killed a
Radford University student found dead in her dorm room Saturday.
Yesterday, VIRGINIA TECH police recovered a body of a graduate student on
THAT campus.
The Associated Press quotes police as saying they suspect alcohol may have
played a role in BOTH deaths.

Gillespie's husband told News-7 he last saw Theresa Saturday when they had
dinner at Maxwell's in Blacksburg.
He says he didn't report her missing because she had taken trips with
friends without telling him before.
The couple lived on Harrell Street in Blacksburg. Theresa's body was found
just a couple of blocks away, in an area where her husband says the two often
went jogging together.
Her body has been sent for an autopsy to determine how she died.

(( 30-year-old Steven Leftwich had to be assisted by his mom to judge's
bench.
One eye closed shut, limping and with a swollen face... he alleges Roanoke
City Police Officers beat him without cause.
However, police contend Leftwich attacked two officers and a trooper during
a traffic stop.
The incident happened Sunday morning on Campbell Avenue around 3:30.
The driver, Leftwich's cousin William Hayden says the police pulled him over
for a broken taillight.
He says during the stop police ordered Leftwich out of the passenger seat to
question him.
Hayden says that's when the beating began.
We attempted unsuccessfully to speak with one of the officers identified by
Leftwich as being involved in the altercation.

Authorities are investigating the deaths of two college students in
Southwest Virginia.
Today, the Associated Press quotes police as saying alcohol may have played a
role in the deaths.

Authorities are still awaiting blood test results to determine what killed a
Radford University student

found dead in her dorm room Saturday.

Now, the body of a VIRGINIA TECH graduate student has been found inside a
fenced-in ROTC repelling area in Blacksburg.
Police say there were no visible signs of foul play.
27- year- old Theresa Gillespie's husband told News-7 he last saw her
Saturday when they had dinner at Maxwell's in Blacksburg.

public nudity and obscenity.

The House of Delegates yesterday endorsed a plan to provide financial
compensation for a Roanoke man wrongly imprisoned for ten years.

Forty-five-year-old Edward Honaker was pardoned by Governor Allen in 1994
after D-N-A tests showed Honaker did NOT rape a woman in Nelson County.
The financial package would pay Honaker 150-thousand dollars in cash and a
350-thousand dollar annuity over ten years.
It is believed to be the largest award of its kind in Virginia.
The legislation was sponsored by Roanoke Democrat Chip Woodrum.
