A Martinsville teacher who allegedly took indecent liberties with a former
female student had the chance to retire BEFORE the charge was presented to a
grand jury.
But prosecutors say 59- year old Anna Corbin did not follow through with the
arrangement.
Corbin was a fifth grade teacher at Albert Harris Elementary school for 33-
years.

The alleged victim, who's now 29, says the abuse began when she was eleven
and continued until she left for college.
Commonwealth's Attorney Randy Smith says he wanted to indict in November,
but held off until February.

Smith says he was surprised to learn, Corbin in fact did NOT retire.
She was still employed as a teacher when the indictment was handed up this
