Apparently someone witnessed a person jumping off a bridge in Pembroke.
Police at this hour are searching the New River.
It happened around 4-30 this afternoon.
State Police divers have also been called in to assist.
No word yet if anyone has been found.

38-year-old Patricia Ann Lockhart's body was found in the 1100 block of Pilot Street, yesterday afternoon.

A Riner man accused of murdering a Virginia Tech student will be in court tomorrow facing capital murder and other charges.

Police say Lilly and two other men abducted DeFilippis outside a convenience store, killed him and dumped his body near railroad tracks.

The corporate sponsors of the two largest running events in Roanoke are pulling out.
Shenandoah Life and First Union each made the decision for separate reasons; First Union now plans to sponsor a youth soccer tournament.

Communities with the lowest unemployment figures include Lexington and Bedford; Covington, and Patrick County were among the highest.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission chief says her group can help save jobs at places like Babcock and Wilcox despite defense cuts.
On tour at the Campbell County facility, Shirley Jackson said the N-R-C can help by speeding up the process of reviewing new nuclear projects.
The Citizens Telephone Cooperative in Floyd is the latest company offering an Internet connection service.
But this one is to rural residents in Carroll, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Montgomery, Patrick, Pulaski, and Roanoke counties.
Shenandoah Life Insurance says last year it produced record profits of nine-million-dollars.
People attending the Roanoke company's annual meeting also learned that THIS year it will continue with a major modernization plan, and hire 70 new agents to sell its individual policies.
Checking the Dow Jones Industrial Average for the week, it rose 38-points, closing at 5503-point-32.

Earnhardt, who has never won the 500, started on the pole but dropped back in the field however he was the leader after six laps.
Defending Winston cup Champion Jeff Gordan got hit in the rear on lap 11 and he hit the wall causing a chain of wrecks that included Rick Mast and Steve Grissom and several others Gordon went to the garage for repairs.
Then some bad luck for Ernie Irvan he too got tapped in the rear and hit the wall in turn four on lap 29 ending his chances of taking the checkered flag.
The fastest car on the track was the Kelloggs Chevrolet of Terry Labonte and he would lead the race before having some type of engine problems.
Defending champ Sterling Marlin was running a strong third but he broke something in his motor ending his chance for a three peat.
