Owner Howard Barrett says a salvage crew will arrive Wednesday to get the boat out of the water so it can be repaired.

"I feel like that there are many other issues occurring in Virginia that require the attention of the House of Delegates more than the issue of whether or not English will be our official language. As a college student and a student of foreign languages, I think it is wonderful for people to learn another language, maybe even three or four languages, but I do not think that the issue requires the heated debate it seemed to be getting from the delegates shown on the newcast.

An office worker- turned artist is making a splash in the Smith Mountain Lake Community.
Linda Wolitz is known locally for her portraits of people and animals.
A demonstration at Bridgewater Plaza recently packed the Little Gallery and Beth Myer was there to see how she captures her subjects.

Linda Wolitz has been painting full time for nine years. While she was naturally talented as a child, her art education did not go beyond high school. And for much of her life, being a professional artist was just a dream.
