A viewer from Vinton thinks that idea is less than "wunderbar".
"I feel like that there are many other issues occurring in Virginia that require the attention of the House of Delegates more than the issue of whether or not English will be our official language. As a college student and a student of foreign languages, I think it is wonderful for people to learn another language, maybe even three or four languages, but I do not think that the issue requires the heated debate it seemed to be getting from the delegates shown on the newcast.
In short, I think that the delegates need to start making decisions on the issues that they campaigned so fervently for and what we elected them for, not whether or not the state's native language will become Spanish, French, German or Italian."
