The day after a lone gunman massacred 16 young children and their teacher, residents in a Scottish town of Dunblane are still stunned.

The gunman, 43-year old Thomas Watt Hamilton, was a former scout leader who was investigated by police in 19-89 for suspected child abuse.
Armed with four handguns, Hamilton walked into a school gym class yesterday and opened fire.
After killing eleven girls, five boys and their teacher, he then took his own life.

One woman is missing, four people injured and twelve homes damaged after a dam break in New Hampshire last night.

The water washed out a major road, caused power failures and forced some 50 people to evacuate.
