Federal aviation experts will be in Roanoke this morning to investigate last
night's emergency landing at Valley View Mall.
The pilot was forced to land the small plane in the Mall's parking lot after
experiencing engine problems.

A two vehicle car accident on route 2-20 in Franklin County has left one
person dead and three others hospitalized.

Eighty-Five year old Helen Louise Nolen died yesterday when the car she was
riding in was struck on the passenger side.
Police say Nolen was with 71 year old Ruth Hash Jones who apparently turned
into the path of a car being driven by William Edward Maxwell of Rocky Mount.
Lifeguard 10 transported Nolen to Roanoke Memorial Hospital where she later
died.
Jones, Maxwell, and another passenger are listed in stable condition at
R-M-H.
The accident is still under investigation.

And a 28-year old man from Ivanhoe is dead following a wreck in Wythe
County.
Police say 28 year old Paul David Mathews was traveling north on Route 94
when his vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and struck a pickup truck.
The two people in the truck, Albert and Dorothy Jones, were taken to the
hospital, where they are listed in stable condition.

A man who led Roanoke police on a dramatic high speed chase earlier this
month will not be facing charges in the city.

On March 5th, city police cited Shawn Michael Love for reckless driving,
failure to stop for police and attempted malicious wounding.
But those charges will be thrown out so Love can face more serious charges
in central and eastern Virginia.
The city prosecutor says all parties have agreed that Love will only be
tried for murder in Prince George county and robbery in Lynchburg and Amherst
County.

Memorial Hospital in Martinsville is standing behind its decision to conduct
a mock hostage drama earlier this year.
In a press release, hospital officials said there was no malicious intent
when the hospital conducted the security drill.
And they say they are saddened by the fact employees have decided to take
legal action.

On January 25th, five masked gunmen entered the emergency room at Memorial
Hospital where they took nurses and other employees hostage.
It was part of the security drill.
Now four nurses, who say they were traumatized, have sworn out criminal

A six- month investigation of Puppyland has failed to turn up enough
evidence to support criminal prosecution.
