In New York, a young girl's life is in danger as doctors refuse critical
surgery until someone can pay the bill.
Doctors say the seven-year-old suffers from a tumor in her spine, and could
die within weeks if it is not removed.
But they say the procedure is too costly to perform without some kind of
financial compensation.
The girl and her father came to the country from their native Bolivia, where
doctors there had mis-diagnosed her cancer as something less servere.
Ironically, medical experts say if the girl had entered the country
illegally, she would be eligible for Medicaid.
The family is now asking for help from the Bolivian Consulate in New York.
