They rezoned 315 acres near the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The vote should clear the way for a development that could include more than
1000 residential units by the year 2020.

hotel room in which a drug arrest was made.
On March 4th, police responded to a complaint from a Residence Inn motel
about possible prostitution in a room. Police allegedly found Irvin and former

three ounces of marijuana, two ounces of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. NO
charges have been filed against Irvin at this time.

The Roanoke Express is in Charlotte for game one of the East Coast Hockey
League Playoffs tonight.
Roanoke is 1 and 5 at Independence Arena, but that hasn't derailed the
Express's enthusiasm for drawing the Checkers in the first round.

But those weren't the only rewards for the Liberty High School Minutemen.

today on the streets of Bedford.

Not a holiday-- but a high school basketball team was the inspiration for
this parade down Main Street in Bedford.
On March 16th, the Liberty Minutemen clinched the Double- A State
Basketball championship.
And the Parade of Champions was their final trophy.
