In Israel this morning, Yigal Amir has been convicted and sentenced for the
November assassination of Israeli prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.

to life in prison.
He was also found guilty of aggravated assault in the wounding of a
bodyguard and given an additional six years.

Americans to walk in space outside the Russian space station Mir.
The six hour stroll includes attaching cosmic dust catchers and paint
samples onto Mir.
They're also testing tools for both Russian and U-S spacesuits.
The last time NASA astronauts had a walk outside a space station was in
19-74 at Skylab.

Last night the County Board of Supervisors agreed to rezone 315 acres near
the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The vote should clear the way for a development that could include more than
a thousand residential units by the year 2020.

Celebration cruise ship fell overboard, plunging 75 feet into the sea.
The cruise ship and the Coast Guard launched a man overboard search but were

Somehow the American college student managed to swim to the shores of Puerto
Rico in the middle of the night.
The nine mile swim took him 10 hours.
