The F-B-I's search of a mountain cabin in Montana has uncovered more damming
evidence against the man suspected to be the notorious Unabomber.
A federal official says a typewriter found in Theodore Kaczynski's cabin
appears to be the one that typed Unabomber documents.
Kaczynski remains in jail this afternoon on a weapons charge.

In another part of Montana, there are hints of a breakthrough in the
ongoing standoff between the F-B-I and the Freemen.

Negotiators sat down with some of the fugitives yesterday on a dirt
road outside the Jordan, Montana ranch.
Under heavy surveillance, the two sides talked for more than an hour.
The meeting was the first sign of a possible break in the standoff that
began March 25th.

In Croatia, the bodies of all 35 victims of the crash of Commerce Secretary
Ron Brown's plane have been recovered.
Authorities say it will be at least another day before the bodies will be
ready for return to the U-S.
Meanwhile a team of Air Force experts and members of the National
Transportation Safety board have arrived in Croatia to investigate the crash.
Today, President and Mrs. Clinton planted a memorial tree outside the White
House in memory of the victims.
A New Jersey family flying to Blacksburg yesterday crash landed in Botetourt
County when their plane ran out of fuel.

Within seven hours of the crash, all three family members had been released
from the hospital.
The most serious injury-- a broken wrist.
And even though Bruce Long won't be piloting his family back to New Jersey,
he says he will take to the skies again.

South Korea today put its troops on heightened alert in response to North
Korea's apparent dismissal of an agreement to maintain the demilitarized buffer
The Defense Ministry says air, naval and ground patrols will be stepped up
and the number of troops on standby will be increased.
North Korea claims the South violated the 19-53 armistice agreement that
ended the Korean War by moving troops into the demilitarized zone separating
the two countries.
South Korea denies the charge.

Pope John Paul has heard confessions from 12 people from different countries
today as part of his Good Friday tradition.

spend more time with her child.
Aliff was in Bedford Circuit Court yesterday, asking for additional
visitation rights with her five year old son.
Last year Aliff lived in California. She was charged with parental
kidnapping after she did not return the boy to Virginia in time to start

A Lynchburg student is suspended and now faces criminal charges after a drug
sweep at E-C Glass High School.
Authorities say they got information yesterday that a student was carrying
Police searched the teen and found what appeared to be marijuana.
They then searched the school for more drugs and weapons but nothing else
School administrators say they have adopted a "zero tolerance" policy toward
drugs in school.
The Pulaski County School Board has expelled a fifth-grader for one year
because the boy brought a B-B gun to school.
The board last summer adopted a weapons policy that includes automatic
expulsion when a student brings a weapon onto school grounds.
School officials say a B-B gun falls under the policy.
For two Florida fifth graders, it's a case of kiss-and-sue.
The American Civil Liberties Union is helping two eleven-year-olds sue the
Brevard County school system after they were punished for kissing in the hall.
A-C-L-U lawyers are asking for a Monday hearing to determine whether the
students can go on a school choir trip next week to the State Capitol.
Besides suspending the boy and girl for a day, the school says they can
only go on the trip if their parents take them and pay for the trip.

65- miles of the Glenwood Horse trail. Much of the trail was constructed on old
roads that had been closed.
It would take a couple of days to ride the whole trail, but there are a
number of loops for shorter rides.

discourage tying horses to trees because they often eat the bark. That

Walter White, the President of the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors,

The Roanoke Central Y-M-C-A Gator swim team is headed to the Sunshine State
The National Championships in Orlando are April 9th through the 12.
The Gators are taking 16 swimmers who will compete against 12 hundred
swimmers from 450 teams.
The Gators finished second in the nation back in 1990 and 21st last year.
