(( Officials say this is the result of an on going investigation of a fight that occurred at a Blacksburg night spot last month.
The charges stem from Druckenmiller's alleged involvement in the beating of Shawn Elko.
Coach Frank Beamer says he's talked to Druckenmiller and in statement released today said- QUOTE-
"He should take some responsibility in the incident.
He has been punished accordingly within our football ranks.
He also pointed out..
"Just because a person has been charged with an offense, that does not necessarily mean he or she is guilty."
Druckenmiller was released today on five- thousand dollar bond.
He did participate in a scrimmage this afternoon.
George DelRicco, a standout linebacker for Tech, was arrested and charged last month in the incident.
Police say the linebacker confronted four other students.
Police say an exchange of words turned physical.
Elko and Jesse Phillips suffered from fractures to the face as a result of the fight.
The arrest of Druckenmiller comes on the heels of some other problems concerning Tech players.
Tony Morrison and James Crawford are facing a civil suit from a former Tech student.

A Miami University football player was found dead shortly after 7 this morning in a dormitory apartment.
A severely injured woman who was with him later died at a hospital.
Police have confirmed the identity of the male victim as 22- year- old Marlin Barnes who was a sophomore and a linebacker on the football team.
The bodies reportedly were found when a student tried to get in the apartment, but the door was blocked.
Police have no suspects at this time are are investigating it as a double homicide.

Lynchburg firefighters have been busy for most of the day, putting out brush fires.

One fire came close to two apartment complexes near Graves Mill Road.
At one point fire officials asked people who lived at Old Mill Townhouse Apartments to close their windows because of the smoke.
The fire also came within a few feet of a complex on Mill View Lane.
A wooded area located behind the apartments caught fire but was quickly contained.
Neither building caught fire.
No one was injured but some firefighters suffered from heat exhaustion.

An Amherst County landmark was destroyed by fire last night.
Officials say the blaze that destroyed the Jack Howell Place may have be the result of an electrical problem.
Two families were living in the house.
Everyone escaped without injury.
The fire is still under investigation, but officials say it does NOT appear to be suspicious.
The home was built in the 1700s.

Motorola has pushed back the opening of a major computer chip manufacturing plant in Goochland county.

Company officials say it's revised its plans for the three BILLION dollar Goochland County facility.
Officials blame the delay on slowed growth in the chip business and recent boosts in capacity at a plant in Austin, Texas.
Motorola bought the 230 acre site last year.
It will employ five-thousand people at full capacity.
The plant is expected to generate more the 500 MILLION dollars in tax revenue in its first 20 years.

To let a twin engine plane take off.
Jack Harmon of Ohio got into trouble Tuesday night while flying from New Hampshire to Tennessee.
He told authorities he had a fire in the cockpit and had to land because the plane was losing oil pressure.
The turnpike was the safest place to do that.
The stranded plane sat on the shoulder of the highway for the better part of the week while repairs were carried out.
Thanks to special permission from state authorities, Harmon was allowed to taxi his plane along the highway earlier today for the take off.

It's the second Harris Teeter to offer a gourmet candy shop.
