Alcohol IS a factor in an accident that happened a couple hours later in
Roanoke County.
The car, driven by 41- year- old Charles Moore, went over the embankment at
Harris' Curve at the base of Bent Mountain.
Moore and his passenger, 45- year- old Francis Baker Junior of Roanoke were
transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Both are in serious condition.
Police say alcohol is a factor in the accident.
Charges are pending.

State Police say excessive speed was to blame for a fatal tractor trailer
accident yesterday on Interstate 81.
The accident happened two miles north of the Christiansburg exit just
before 6:30 last night.
State Police say the truck crossed the median and both the north and
southbound lanes of traffic before striking an embankment.
The driver of the tractor trailer suffered major head injuries--he was
pronounced dead a few hours later at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
His name is not being released until his relatives are notified...state
police say he is NOT from Virginia.

We really enjoyed the segment on the band, and were impressed by reporter

I was very disturbed when I saw your sports report did not include coverage
of the first Major League Soccer game...I think it was an important game for
area residents since many of D.C. United players and the coach came from UVA.

for the Blacksburg High School Girls Varsity soccer team. Soccer deserves to
