during George Allen's term.

I don't think we know what to expect anymore with this legislature and this

The Governor's office says his opportunity fund grants have brought over 47-
hundred jobs to the Roanoke region in the last two years.
So, the nursing school and the inmate rehabilitation programs both will be
cut from the budget.

An F-14 fighter jet crashes in Virginia Beach today-

The F-14-B fighter went down in some woods and exploded at the Oceana Naval
The pilot and radar officer were able to parachute to safety.

The plane was attempting to land when it went down.
It is the fourth F-14 crash this year.
No word on what caused today's crash.
In Franklin County, a retired couple from Texas- on their way to visit
their son in Northern Virginia- died in a plane crash yesterday.
Mid-way through a flight from Greenville, South Carolina to Leesburg, the
small "home-built" aircraft crashed in a grove of trees in Franklin County.
Charles and Estelle Diseker apparently died as the two-seater plane hit the

The government says it received some 900 reports of fire involving the

and Ennis Business Forms.

Most women know they should have a mammogram to detect breast cancer
early, but what about colon cancer in the earliest stages when it's most
Two things are important - an examination by the doctor and a test for
blood in the stool which can be one of the earliest signs of colon

remove the tumor and is now undergoing chemotherapy for the cancer which had
spread to her liver.

Golfers in a charity tournament probably probably had a hard time keeping
the ball on the course with all the wind today.
But it was all for a good cause.
Workers from the Cave Spring Kroger organized their fifth annual golf
tournament for the March of Dimes, which helps fund the treatment and
prevention of birth defects.
Last year the tournament raised over 12 thousand dollars.
Organizers hope to double that this year.

The latest News-7 poll has some troubling news for Senator John Warner.
