According to the latest Mason Dixon poll, 58- percent of regular voters say the Governor is doing an excellent or good job.

In contrast, the General Assembly doesn't fare as well.
39- percent say lawmakers are doing excellent or good jobs.
And that bunch's approval rating actually jumped seven points over last year.
Suffolk Republican Robert Nelms apparently did a good job of making the public aware of a law that protects legislators from arrest during the session.
Nelms used it to get an indecent exposure charge dismissed lat week.
Should lawmakers be immune from such arrests?
No according to 73- percent of those polled.
14 percent say the law's okay.
Less arresting for the public has been the Governor's lonely fight against federal Goals 2000 money.
Allen says it will mean too much federal control.
Leading Democrats say the state should accept the almost seven million dollars it's due.
We asked you.
49- percent say yes -- the state should accept the money.
28- percent say no -- the Governor's right.
And a significant 23- percent say they still don't know.
