A Vinton couple and their baby daughter died following a high speed chase in Roanoke County yesterday.
Police say it all started when they tried to pull a car over for a routine traffic stop.

(( The chase ended here, at the intersection of Plantation and Williamson Road.
Police were apparently chasing the driver of this blue car, 21 year old Scott Carlton Allman of Roanoke.
Witnesses say Allman ran a red light, then broad sided this black Monte Carlo.
Lori Mason of Vinton was thrown from the Monte Carlo and died at the scene.
Thomas Faucher,Jr, was also killed.
Six week old Joleen Faucher was also thrown from the car.
Police say the chase began in the 5000 block of Franklin Road.
It then continued to Hershberger Road and on to Plantation.
Witnesses say the speeds during the chase exceeded 80 miles per hour.

Police say Allman hit a vehicle on Hershberger Road prior to the fatal accident.
The driver of that car was apparently uninjured.
Allman is being charged with attempting to elude police, hit and run, and driving on a suspended license.
Additional charges are pending.
The father of Thomas Faucher tells News 7 he will speak to his lawyer concerning the accident and plans to take legal action against the police.

Police say the downtown area suffered extensive damage.
Officials also say there are lots of reports of damage in nearby Van Buren.

They say she knew resting a plane on treetops is often a safe way to go when power is lost.
So... that's what she did.

Roanoke County police say a Vinton couple and their six-week-old daughter died when a car being chased by police struck their car.

Thirty-four-year-old Thomas Faucher Junior and 36-year-old Lori Mason were killed in yesterday afternoon's crash.
Their daughter Joleen was thrown from her car seat and died late last night at Community Hospital.
Police have charged 21-year-old Scott Allman with felony hit and run, felony failure to stop for police and driving on a suspended license.
Allman was not seriously injured.
