A four-year-old Christiansburg girl who was pulled from a pond Sunday has
died.
Montgomery County officials say Jaimee Deihm (DIE-am) remain submerged in
the pond for more than an hour.
Rescue workers were able to restore her heartbeat but doctors said her body
was too weak to survive.
She died yesterday.

Death Row inmate Lem Tuggle is scheculed to die next month.
A Smyth County judge has set a June sixth execution date.

Tuggle is the last surviving member of a six inmate gang that pulled off the
largest death-row escape in U-S history in 19-84.
He was convicted of capital murder for the 19-83 rape and killing of Jessie
Geneva Havens.
The crime occurred four months after Tuggle was paroled for the 19-71 murder
of a 17 year old girl.

Patrick Henry Hotel answering a lot of questions.
The loan is from the federal government.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development recently placed an ad that
has the landmark on a list of foreclosure properties it's putting on the
auction block.

HUD says the owner of the Patrick Henry has not been making its mortgage
payments.
But Affirmative Equities of New York says it's all a misunderstanding, and
it will remain the owner of the hotel.
The company says it's working on a deal so it can pay off the mortgage in
one lump sum.

Turnout has been mixed at some polling places this morning.
Some, like the one at Fishburn Park Elementary, tradionally get a good
turnout.
But in Roanoke, it's anticipated that the number of votes cast will be below
what it was in 1992, last time the mayor's seat was up for grabs.

pressman.
Ironically he'd worked for Double Envelope for eight years but thought
Transkrit might offer a better opportunity.
He says Transkrit fired him because he couldn't meet production goals set
by the company.
But he says there are half a dozen other pressman at Transkrit with worse
performance records, including one WOMAN.

summed up the case for him this way.
